Written Language
People in China spoke a variety of language and dialects before the Zhou Dynasty. So, speaking from region to region was a big problem. To solve this problem, the Zhou Dynasty took a new approach to writing. Instead of words they used pictures or characters. That way, no matter how a word is pronounced in different parts of China, its written form could be understood everywhere.
This is a picture of Chinese calligraphy which is the Chinese written language that the Zhou used with a certain brush pen to make some likes thicker or thinner for identifying the pictures or characters.
